Tomlin and Jobe...yaya...

Can you see who that is?
You can't?!
Well it is Chris Tomlin!
We only had Matt's iphone -
so this is the only picture that kinda shows him...
He was at our church for a Worship Pastor's Conference...
and we were able to go to his concert...
it was g-o-o-d!
Then later in the week we went to see Desperation Band...
who had Kari Jobe (totally love her) accompany them!
Here are 2 videos if you wanna watch...
Kari's voice is so beautiful!
video
It was so powerful and encouraging to see
hundreds of high school students worshiping and praising!
They were at our church for the Desperation Conference.
I would have loved this in high school (10 years ago...ah!)!
video
My friend Amy, who also loves Kari Jobe, came with me!
And on her birthday! Yay!

Here is an awesome picture I took later that week...
pretty, huh?
That is what I felt like after having some
amazing worship times this week!
LALALALA!

Praise God!

We HEART The Chick!

This is how we feel about Chick Fil A...
Raise the roof, sista!!

This week was Customer Appreciation Week at our local Chick!
That meant we ate there 3 times this week!
So good job, marketing team at Chick! You reeled us in!

We received a free stuffed cow on Monday.
We received a free peach milkshake (oh yum) on Wednesday.
We went there for dinner on
"Dress like a Princess or Pirate Night"
and Allikaye received a free kid's meal!

Here are some pics from the fun Princess/Pirate Night!

They had cute little games in the parking lot...

Does my arm look like it could be Allikaye's?
mmm...fweaky! hehe

Here's cute little princess playing...
What's up, cow!
Oh my, the airbrushing!
Allikaye was nervous at first...
SO, Matt and I had to get one too, of course!
Guess what Allikaye picked for us?!
A PINK TIGER!! GRRRRRR.....
Look how tough the Hubster is...
rocking the pink tiger!
And here is our little family!

We sure do love The Chick Fil A!

Circus and Aquarium!

Talk around our house has been about the
aquarium for days...
We went about a week ago...
and it was fabulous!
The other night when I was rocking Miss Thang
to sleep...
I said, "I will always love you, Allikaye."
Allikaye said back, "I will always...
go to the aquarium."
Hmmm...she's got it on the brain!
There was lots of pointing...
and oohs and ahs!
We bought some little stinky fish to feed the
stingrays...
word of advice...
they bite...
like opened the skin bite...
yeah - won't be doin that again!

To keep the summer fun coming our way...
we went to the circus with grandmama!!

Allikaye was the best 2 year old I have ever seen...
sitting so nicely...
clapping...
cheering...
eating her sno-cone...
and cotton candy...
and kettle corn...
We saw...
zebras, tigers, horses, dogs, and...
elephants!
They were fabulous!
How do they get them to do that?!
When the lights were bright...
she would shade her eyes like this...
so cute!
I kept wondering...
who are these circus people?
Where do they come from...
because they were obviously n-o-t from Colorado!
Probably not from the u.s.a either!
But Allikaye, and mama and grandmama...
l-o-v-e-d the circus!
Loved it!
Here is a video - one of many - that we took at the circus...
If you can't hear her...
I ask where are we?
And Allikaye says...
The aquarium.
No, the circus!
Sweet girl! She makes everything so much sweeter...
and memorable!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Jessica, at Life on Brixton Lane, tagged me for 6 things that make me H-A-P-P-Y!!
So here ya go!

1. Today (6/8) is the 2nd anniversary of my really bad car accident. I was hit right on my driver's side door...rushed to the hospital...had l-o-t-s of glass taken out of my face and arms...and got all stitched up. The cuts have scars...many of which people that have met me in the last 2 years wouldn't think twice about...but I know they are there. But what I am HAPPY about is the power God has over every situation and fear. I should have been hurt a lot worse than I was in my accident...so says the paramedics that came to visit me at the hospital. So for that...I am thankful that God held me in my car that day. I am also HAPPY that Allikaye wasn't in the car!! Another HAPPY thing about this anniversary is how my fears have been given to God. I don't have to be nervous and anxious about getting in my car...going through a particular intersection...and being fearful of what could happen to me. I have learned to surrender this fear - that came upon me 2 years ago - and cast those fear on God. I love that - and it makes me HAPPY!!

2. I am HAPPY that MaTt GoT a JoB!!! Woohooo!! You heard right! We stepped out in complete faith...not knowing if Matt would get a job...but knowing that God would take care of us regardless. And after much prayer, patience and waiting...we were blessed with a job for Matt! Yay! So much thanks for all you prayer warriors that prayed for us! Now I get to be a stay at home mommy for a year - and Matt gets to continue to do what he loves and is good at...teaching! HAPPY!

3. I am HAPPY that people took the time to comment and give me some excellent advice on Allikaye's "pash" obsession. I got some g-r-e-a-t ideas...and we are excited to try a few of them! We are going to take this leap when we transition tot he "big girl" bed - which will be in a few weeks! I will keep ya posted!

4. I am HAPPY with being CONTENT!
Sounds like the Department of Redundancy Department! But it is true...I am striving to be content in my life...mainly in the area where we are at in our lives. I'm tryng to be thankful for where we are and not be in want of more.

5. I am HAPPY that I have the JOY of the Lord! I heard once that happiness is a temporary feeling - something that makes us feel good here on earth. But JOYfulness comes from a deeper place. It is having a hope and promise that is to come...knowing there is JOY ahead because of the promises of our Lord! That is why the word - JOY- is one of my fave words!

6. I asked Allikaye, "What makes Mommy HAPPY?" And Allikaye said, "ME!" She is SO right - Allikaye does make me HAPPY! She fills me with HAPPY HAPPY HAPPINESS!!
I am tagging up...
Irene Joy ...Sticky Fingers
Amanda ...Lifelong Play Date
Jenn ...Lipstick and Laundry
Kate ...and now there are three
Lianna ...Be Thou a Knight
Rachel ...Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane

These are just a few blogs and peeps that make me HAPPY!

Oh...comments make me HAPPY too!! hehe!

It's time...

to say goodbye to the pacifier.

I don't know if I am ready!
You are thinking...
shouldn't she ask if Allikaye is ready?
No - I mean I don't know if I am ready!

I always said that after potty training was done -
we would tackle the "pash"- as she calls it.

So...potty training is done...
ah! Can we do it?
What calms her during those lovely 2 year old tantrums?
Her pash!
What soothes her into taking 3 hour naps?
Her pash!
What helps her n.e.v.e.r wake up in the night?
Her pash!

Will I lose naptime?
Will I be awakened in the night?
I mean...
Will Allikaye lose her naptimes?
Will Allikaye get awoken in the night?
Man, how selfish of me! hehe
