The Twins Have Arrived!!

February 27, 2012...
two beautiful babies were born!
Here is Cambria Jane and Kai Matthew!
Woohooo!

Here is a bit of the story of their birthday!

We headed to the hospital in the morning
with bad contractions...
this was the 3rd time heading to the hospital -
the previous 2 being false alarms.
I was determined to not leave without my babies being born.
I was pretty miserable being pregnant with these cuties.
So very swollen...had no ankles...no knees...could barely walk.
And my blood pressure was h.i.g.h.
So once there, they had to do a c-section...
different plan that I had intended.
But I wanted to have my babies healthy...
and a c-section was in order.
Ah!
I was quite nervous!
The babies were born super fast...
Kai came at 4:07
Cambria came at 4:08
Then my body decided to not behave.
I had a postpartum hemorrhage...
which means my uterus was overstretched...
twins.
And it wouldn't contract...
which means it bleeds until contraction.
I lost 2 liters of blood.
Had to get a transfusion...
yech.
Despite the yuck of my body...
these babies are perfect!
And they were suprisingly big!!
Kai - 6 lbs 6 oz!
Cambria - 5 lbs 14 oz!
Matt and I could not believe they were that big!
I knew I was miserable!! :0)
Praise the Lord they are prefect little babies!
I was out of it for awhile after the birth...
so I love this picture...
I missed Allikaye's first look at her new brother and sister...
and this makes my heart happy to see her little smile.
She loves these babies so much!
Here is the new family of 5!
5?!
That's crazy!
My sweet Allikaye and me...
And here is my beautiful Cambria Jane...
she looks SO much like Allikaye.
She calls her "mini-me"
Cam's features are so petite and feminine.
Pretty girl.
Here's my sweet Kai Matthew.
Already loves to cuddle up close and is a mama's boy.
I wanted a boy so badly...
and he is so perfect!
Mama and Cambria...

My buddy boy...
Love the cuddles.
LOVE!
We sure love our blessings.
Have I mentioned how in love we are?
Well...we are.
They are so different already.
Different cries...
different ways to be soothed...
but so so sweet and good natured.
Proud daddy...
They are almost one month old!
Life has become more and more scheduled and calm.
We are becoming a working family again.
Getting used to two babies and a 5 year old...
two babies that were born 4 weeks early.
March 26th is their actual due date...and we are almost there!

They are champion nursers...
I can tandem feed them -
which makes me feel so successful!
They are both gaining weight wonderfully...
and are enjoying their big sister...
and their new home!

First bath at home...
Cam and AK...
Watching TV while calming her brother down...
she's a great helper.
They like to hang out here in the day...
Welcome little twins!

We are so happy you are here.
You have completed this little family!
God has blessed us beyond our imaginations with
your sweet little selves!

Aunt Katie's Wedding!!

Matt's sister, Katie,
had a fun wedding up in Fort Collins
a few weeks ago.

Allikaye had one of the biggest highlights
of her little 5 year old life...
she was a flower girl!!
Serious excitement for this girl!

Here is Miss Flower Girl at the rehearsal.
So pretty.
Allikaye's cousin, Anna,
Matt's other sister's little girl,
was the other flower girl.
Practicing...
Now THIS is the girl I know so well....
Then the big day came!
I love this first picture.
I can see us recreating one when AK gets married someday.
Oh the tears!!
Daddy and girl...
Flower girls...
Here is the beautiful bride and Allikaye before the wedding...
Opening her present from Katie...
Cute sock monkey...
she loved it.
Anna and Allikaye
You think she likes to pose?
She actually said,
"Mom, would you like me to do 'the peek'
for this picture?"
ha!
She did so great walking down the aisle
and sprinkling her rose petals!

Then came the reception!
Dance time!
Dancing with her daddy is an
all time favorite for this chick.
I think daddy likes it too!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching
these two rule the dance floor.
And I couldn't leave out the
"Matt and Allikaye Signature Move"
They did this about 50 times.
So funny!
Oh yeah!
Here is the perfect picture of how the night ended...
sleepy sleepy flower girl.
She loved every minute.

We are so happy for Aunt Katie and Kenny!
Thanks for having Allikaye be a part of your big day!
She treasured it!

The 5 year old birthday party...

Allikaye decided that this year she
wanted a pajama party...
well, a sleepover, actually.
But this prego mom is not ready for that step yet!!

So everyone wore their pajamas
and brought their sleeping bags.
Allikaye really planned it all.

We decorated sugar cookies.
Played, "Dragon, Dragon, what time is it"
(a game that AK explained to me).
Played freeze dance.
Opened presents.
Ate pizza.
Ate cupcakes.
And had an all around 5 year old good time!

Delaney and AK being the "dragons"
The whole gang yelling,
"Dragon, what time is it?!"
Getting close to the cute dragons!
Here are some pics of Allikaye and her friends...
Sweet Delaney.
Lilly...
Ava...
Kaida and Mallory...
Allikaye got some light up Sketchers...
she SO wanted these!!
This made me laugh.
I bought this unicorn for a dollar this summer at a garage sale.
Thankfully I remembered I had hid it for just an
occasion as a 5 year old party.
It is classy...porcelain...oh yeah.
Only a 5 year old would think this
is an awesome present!
Then the cupcakes and the singing!
Sweet, happy, intelligent, curious, funny, whistling machine!
I love my pretty little 5 year old!

Now she keeps asking when kindergarten starts...
noooo! It can't be!

Here are some questions and answers from

Allikaye is 5!!!

My pretty girl is really 5...
hard to believe!
The day started with her emerging from her
pink cave
through streamers...
Pretty 5 year old with bed head...
Opened some presents...

Then after a doctor appointment
for mama and the twin babes...
we headed to a day planned out entirely by
Miss 5 Year Old herself.

First stop...
Build a Bear Workshop...
Stuffing her new pink kitty...
Making a wish on the heart...
Wash station...
And the dressed up creation...
she named her
"Valentine's Princess"
pronounced,
"ValentiMe's Princess"
Second stop was mac and cheese lunch at Noodles...
then Krispy Kreme (made this prego lady happy)...
then games and tickets at Chuck E. Cheese.

Happy Birthday Allikaye!
You are a daily blessing.
Words can not express.
I love you, you 5 year old!

xoxo
