Flowers in Her Hair...

It has been just simply lovely weather out here in CO lately...
giving me that spring time excitement...

So I started making these great big flower hair clippies!
They are so fun!
I rip out the centers and add some flavor!

This "posing" with the clips in...
resulted in chocolate bribery...

They would be so cute with an Easter outfit!
Or just everyday!
I put them in the shop...hopefully someone else loves them too!

I also made these pretty jeweled clips...
I love these too!
And these cute pink frilly ones!

Then I thought I could show ya some of the customized blocks I've been making...
Here are some cute sock monkey - polka dot action...
And some purple goodness...One last thing for today...
this is Allikaye's latest obsession...
shared with her love for Ariel as well...

She would watch this movie all day if I let her!
It started off really fun to watch for me, because I could remember all of it!
The faces of the orphans were so familiar...
and the songs came back to me...

But now...I can't get the songs out of my head!
And if I accidentally sing them out loud...
and Allikaye hears me...

"I wanna watch Annie, Mama?!"

Ah! No more Annie!
We have actually made it a whole day yesterday without turning it on...
so I sense progress!

On the positive side...
Here are some funny lines that Allikaye has taken on
since Little Orphan Annie entered our world...

In the bath tub yesterday,
"Leapin Lizards!"

Out of the blue,
"I love you Miss Hanigan!"
"Miss Hanigan is not nice!"
"Annie like to sing and dance and clean!"
"Those girls are being naughty!"
"Where's Daddy Warbucks?"
"Mom, sing Tomorrow, Tomorrow!"

No more tomorrow!!
Heheehe!

Some Yee-Hawing...and Seeing Spots...

Thankfully...
I have been busy making blocks...
and hair clippies (new little product in my Etsy)...

So here is an update on our little ol' life...

Our small group had a line dancin' teacher
come in and teach us a few dances...
just for some good ol' laughs...
which we definitely had!
It took place in the "train room" at church...
putting us in a yee-haw mood...oh yeah.
I just love this group of friends that love the Lord!
Here is a s.h.o.r.t. video...
I mean short...6 seconds!
But evidence of all of us boot scootin' boogieing!
So sad my big hubby was out of this shot -
he was such a good sport and made me laugh the whole time...
actually all the guys were good sports!

Sadly...
Allikaye had her first real-doctor-visit-sickness...
pretty good record for a 2 year old!
She had her first ear infection and cold.
So after her first week of being on antibiotics (amoxicillan)...
this was all over her little body...
I of course freak out...
because that's what I do...
and apparently this happens sometimes with that antibiotic!
Thanks for the heads-up, doc!

Here are two pieces of evidence that she is feeling just fine...
despite her spotty self...

#1.
Putting Star in the fridge...
actually she puts that poor cat anywhere she can!
#2.
Taking Tre (our real dog),
and Miss Allikaye's dog to the dog park...
I don't recommend this...
some of the other dogs were eyeing this little stuffed cutie!

Okay... one more thing...
CREPES!!!
When we lived in Germany
I learned how to make these.
All I have to say is...
YUM!
I forgot how much I love them...
and the German-staple Nutella
(seriously there is a jar of this at every family table).
I am posting the recipe at my cookin blog...
they are really easy and don't require a lot of ingredients...
but be warned...
they are addicting!
Have a great rest of the week...
until next time...

Cora's Playground...

I know many of you have heard of
sweet Cora Paige that went home to be with Jesus.
You can read more on her parent's blogs...here and here.
They have been such an awesome testimony of
faith and hope in a such a hard time.

Tomorrow is the big launch for all the Etsy shops
that are selling items to contribute to
Cora's Playground.

So Lovey Dovey...

The lovey dovey-ness
starts with this guy...
the hubby...
And then goes to this beautiful ski-town...
Breckenridge!
We had so much fun celebrating an early Valentine's Day!
Here is my strong pull-up man on the pretty bridge...
This was in Dillon....after shopping at the outlets...
we usually ski, so it was so nice to just go up to Breck and chill...
it is so beautiful!
Looking at the slopes in this picture...
I am glad we weren't skiing that day...
brrrr! Ya wanna come out to Colorado and visit??
Here is a teaser...
Look at this sunset...

I also got my box from the Mini-Valentine's Swap I did...
Thank you so much, Beth!!
I LOVE my goodies...
so very thoughtful!!
Look at these little felt chocolates!!
Allikaye loves them!
Beth, you are so talented!!

I first saw this cool idea on my cousin Amber's blog...
ad then I saw it on my my friend Chance's blog...
So now it's my turn!!
Amber found it in Family Fun Magazine...right Amber?

Here are the crayons...
Then here they are after the oven...
I must admit that this heart thing is supposed to be for ice cubes...
I didn't think of that until the baking was over!
Thankfully - they didn't melt and cause a colorful fire!
Here is the finished product!!
I made one for every student in my class for
Valentine's Day!
Thanks for the hook-up to this great and easy idea, girls!!
And here is to you...my blog friends...
YOU COLOR MY WORLD!!

Happy Valentine's Day early!!
Have a LOVEY DOVEY weekend!!

This Blog is Written by a 28 Year Old...

Yep...I am now 28!
Here is the cake from my parents...
The name is essentially right...Ashley Laura...
however the cake-maker added an 'and' in there.
Makes me want to pretend I have a twin named Laura.
We totally get along...
and we share cute clothes...
and she has a little girl Allikaye's age...
and we love to shop together...
okay, sorry, back to my birthday! hehe
Here is the sweet cake made by my hubby...
I have now learned that he frosts cakes better than me.
Guess who will be frosting cakes from now on?
Ha! Happy birthday to me!
Oh...and now for the birthday dinner...
The Melting Pot...
mmmmm...
All of this was deliciously covered in chocolate...
I want more!
So there is a quick wrap-up of the birthday!
Yay...fun times!

I have also started attempting hair clippies for Miss Allikaye!
Here are some pics...
Yay for the bling!
L-O-V-E making these!

What else have we been doing?

Other than a birthday...
twin-wishing...
yummy birthday cakes...
happiness dipped in chocolate...
and hair clippies...

We have been just hanging out
and building forts...

**It is Feb. 1st - so time to pick a new memory verse...mine is on my sidebar!**
