Spring Break!

Allikaye has no trouble
pretending and imagining...
none whatsoever.
The first thing she talks about in the morning...
until her eyes are shut at night...
is...
"O....K...mom, you be the queen/children/sister/mom,
and I'll be the princess/mom/dragon catcher/,
and Tre will be the dragon/horse/
and dad you're the king/prince/dragon fighter"
and on and on.

So needless to say,
we don't really need a spark to this
girl's imagination!
But if we DID...
the Children's Museum would be the place to be!

It is such an awesome place!
And the older Allikaye gets...
the more she appreciates all the fun rooms and activities!

Here are l-o-t-s of pics from our fun day with Dad!
He's off on spring break this week!!
WWWOOOHHHOOO!

This is Hopscotch,
the chalkboard cow.
We played with some trains...
Allikaye loves Chuggington.
She said she was "Brewster"
This may have been the favorite room...
the store.
It is designed for kids...
not 6'5" daddys.
She was so serious about this.
We had to each take our places...
no joking around.
"My turn to be the payer checker!"

And round 1, 233 of food in her basket.
We had to lure her to other rooms
to end the shopping madness!
Then we made a peacock...
she is so proud!
Jumping in the baby area...
there weren't any babies...no worry.
She's a cow...
not sure what Matt is...
Fishin...
Taking time to pose for crazy camera mom...
Gardening was a favorite too...
Oh good grief...
I can't get enough of this pretty girl!
Painting.
I love this picture because I have
lots in this same pose...
same place...
but at different stages in Allikaye's life.
Such great memories!
Give her a cape and a dance floor...
and the smiles come out!
This is evidence of her puppet lion attacking the
king...her words.
Duck!
Here's the mommy and me picture...
Cutest squirrel I ever did see!

After this we enjoyed the hot weather
downtown Denver.
Waded in the river...
ate at our favorite old school tavern...
My Brother's Bar.
And then even topped the day off with ice cream!!
Oh...and a nap for mama!

Wonderful lovely day!
Here's cheers to spring break!
We love having Matt home!!!!

Off to be the queen...
or maybe the sister...
or maybe the children...
whatever that girl wants.

Random...list style...

I have been a slacker blogger...
don't really have any post worthy topics.
So I will just do a random list thing...
you're welcome.

* I have been playing volleyball a lot lately -
and as usual, I love it!
Volleyball used to be so much of my daily
life in college...and before.
So now, to get my fix weekly has been awesome!

* Also with volleyball, I am coaching a
6th grade competitive team -
starting tonight.
I taught a bunch of the girls when they were
in 2nd grade - so I am excited to now be their coach.

* Allikaye got new pink converse shoes last
week - and I am in love with them on her!!
Love!
Especially when they are with her dance class outfit...

* My 3 year old sassy pants has been cracking us up
lately with her little quips and words...
now this isn't new - she has been talking like a maniac
since she was 1 - but I just have to remember
these funny things she says:

* The drain in the bathtub is known in our house
as the "plugging drought"
Her word. It makes sense, doesn't it?
She is very worried that things
will vanish down the plugging drought!

* She has a little lamb that says the Lord's Prayer
when you squeeze it...
"Now I lay me down to sleep..."
Well, she asked where "Gunka Steve" was.
Huh?
She said, "You know mom, Now I lay me GUNKA STEVE..."
ahahahaha!
Seriously,
we laugh so hard at our new friend Gunka Steve!

*I told Allikaye to look cool in this picture...

* My bestie from college that lives in Boise,
just had their first baby...Landon James!
I can not wait to go visit this summer...
makes me cry how bad I want to see him!

* I have been crafting it up like crazy for
new baby Landon!
I will show you all after I ship it out!

* I bought these shoes on Etsy...here.
They were size 11!
I know..huge feet...thanks to birthing my Allikaye!

* I made my first skirt for Miss Thang!
It was hard.
I think the tutorial I chose was
too hard.
It involved algebra.
I am terrible at math.
But I am proud of how it turned out!

*Here is my little leprechaun!
Love her! Love her!!

Happy random list!

**Edited to add:
Another random fact...
Allikaye uses chips and crackers as spoons.
Right now,
she is currently using
Cheezits as a spoon
for her applesauce...
oh yeah...mmmmm.

Beautiful Painting...

I found this little cute doll bedfor $2 at Goodwill!
It was forest green and cobwebby.
So after some pink spray paint -
it was super cute!!!
But wait...not quite right...
it was missing something.

All it needed was the special touch from
our resident artist...
now it is perfect
and more beautiful
than I could have made it on my own!

Then we didn't stop there!

Starry Cat loves her new house!
Painted with love!
I love how Allikaye makes my world
beautiful...
more than I could even have known!

Mommy and Me - Week 2 - and a favorite verse!

This week's Mommy and Me picture
is also showing a quote that I love...
and then a favorite verse!

I found it on my good friend, Irene's, blog.

Here it is, if ya can't read it...
or are distracted by my girl's striking beauty!

"God, who foresaw your tribulation,
has specially armed you
to go through it,
not without pain,
but without stain."
C.S. Lewis

That quote reminds me of one of my
favorite verses...
one of those verses that is hidden in my heart
and comes up on those days
when God wants me to know that it's
not the end of the world...
as my drama queen self rears it's ugly head...
and wants me to think that it is.

John 16:33
"I have told you these things,
so that you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But TAKE HEART!
I have OVERCOME the world."

He has OVERCOME!
Woohoo!
THAT is a perspective that
I can put my hope and trust into!!
